Blaylock Van

Rebranding a Legacy Investment Bank for the Modern Financial Market

Blaylock Van is the oldest continuously operating African-American-owned investment bank in the United States. As the firm evolved, the brand needed to reflect its legacy while presenting a more modern and credible presence in today’s financial market.

Brand & Website System

The identity uses a restrained visual language built around strong typography, structured layouts, and a refined colour palette.

The monogram mark reinforces the firm’s legacy while allowing the brand to scale across digital platforms, presentations, and marketing materials.

This system was applied consistently across both the brand identity and website, creating a cohesive and authoritative experience.

The Challenge

Blaylock Van had a strong history and reputation, but the existing brand and digital presence no longer reflected the firm’s stature or ambition.

The challenge was to modernise the identity while preserving the sense of heritage, trust, and credibility that defines the firm.
